crunchpad for me please

imagine a GIANT IPHONE designed just to surf the web, read email, and watch youtube and hulu all in one sleek 12″ thin screen without the Apple part of it.   this seems like a real practical solution for those folks who do only that.

The CrunchPad is expected to be a light, thin device that is primarily used for browsing the Web, reading e-mail, and viewing videos from Flash-based Web sites like YouTube and Hulu. The device will have a 12-inch touch screen with an “iPhone-like” virtual keyboard, and the device will use Intel’s Atom processor.

imagine the space you can save by avoiding a computer tower?  or losing all those stupid cables that connect to the tower?

sure, you can get a laptop – but a descent laptop will still put you down $700-1000 on the cheap end.  (of course that’s my opinion of borderline quality and cheap)

but imagine picking this thing up for under $300.  yea, i was surprised.

red bull art of can. wow.

 Red Bull has been hosting their annual Red Bull Art of Can exhibition since 2005.  This year the 2009 Exhibition will be held in Washington DC at Union Station October 1-12.

The exhibition will be open to all artists who can create an original piece of artwork inspired by or created with Red Bull cans.

You do have to register for the event and you have to do it before May 15th, 2009.

GigaPan Epic – evolution of the panorama

by now most folks have seen David Bergman’s Inauguration image taken with the Gigapan Epic.

well guess what?  you can have one too.  make your own super cool panos using the GigaPan Epic. 

how does it work?  the GigaPan Epic creates panoramas with almost any point and shoot pocket camera.  the Epic is a small robot – you set the upper left and lower right corners of your pano.  then the Epic works out how many photos your camera will need to take and takes them for you with its robotic arm.  it then organizes these photos taken into the correct rows and columns needed for the pano.
