vintage transformers – bleeds your wallet

so Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is scheduled for release May 24, 2009.  all the hoopla about the movie constantly stems up conversation at work about the old cartoons we used to watch and who was our favorite characters.

so being a photographer and a former owner of some of the original transformer toys –  it got me wondering if i could still find some authentic old school dinobots.  (dinobots were my favorites, next to soundwave of course.)

well i searched and i damn near choked when i found it.

would you believe me if i told you a LOOSE VINTAGE 1985 G1 Dinobot (Sludge) goes for $149.99?

HOLY SHIT BATMAN!  thats expensive as hell!  i officiously declare SHENANIGANS!

had i known they’d be worth that much, i’d have tried not to lose the ones i did have.  sheesh!

so much for adding that series of toys to the collection….

ladytron and the faint @ 930 club

this is sucha late post, (like it shoulda been posted in april) but ladytron put on a fantastic show and the faint sounded great.

i figured i took pics and i’m goin to post them even though they’re over a month old.

of course these aren’t as fantastic as i’d have liked them to be, but i had to use my little sony pocket cam.

thats one of the problem with SLR’s… they’re too big and obvious!!

jimmy v – we’re behind you

jimmy vanderhaar is a good guy.  he’s funny, he’s smart, he’s fast as shit on a motorcycle, and he got the shaft at THE WORST possible moment.

jimmy was accepted to race at the Isle of Man TT.  a couple days ago his arrangements for shipping his bikes over were cancelled putting him in a nasty situation.  title sponsorship bailed out last minute and now he faces the problem of financing all of this himself.  how do you rake up almost $7000 within days?

being a friend of jimmy and an enthusiast of the motorcycle street racing world, i want to see jimmy go and race.  i’ve donated to his cause and i’m going to ask the same of others who support this community.  $5 or $500, whatever you can spare will be greatly appreciated.

friends have set up a blog tracking status of this event and you can follow it here.

James “JimmyV” Vanderhaar has been accepted into the 2009 IOM where he plans to contest 5 classes. The title sponsor just cut their commitment 4 days prior to shipping. Now Jimmy is being forced to use every available resource he can to include reaching out to the great interwebs. We are asking for monetary donations of any amount. It doesn’t matter if its $5 or $500, every bit helps.

We are accepting donations in the form of cash, money orders, and personal checks. Send us an email at jimmyvtt2009@gmail.com if you have any questions regarding donations. The same email is tied to our Vanderhaar Racing Paypal account and can be used for donations via that source.

GO JIMMY!
