i love my iphone camera.  it takes some really neato pics and with the apps i get to process many of the images just about any way i want.  but some folks want more.  more distance or more closer images.

but my focus today is for those of us that want CLOSER pics and is stuck with a 3G iphone. we know the 3G phones and prior doesn’t exactly focus all that well on anything 10 inches or closer.

so i went to look and see what options i had.  i could make my own, but that involves work and i’ll be the first to admit – i’m lazy.  but i looked anyway.

i want it and i want it NOW – the next generation in instamatic photography

one of my photos from my last batch of 600 film

i happily found my last package of 600 film for my polaroid over the weekend and was reminded just how much i miss shooting instant film.  what’s better than taking a photo and within minutes getting the final result?  no processing from film labs or photoshop – just instant here and now.  it’s a winner everytime.      

out of curiosity, i wanted to know how much 600 film was going for so i did a quick search on ebay.  i watched 3 different auctions on 600 film.      

Polaroid 600 Instant film 1 Pack 20 Photos ended at $45 dollars with $6.00 shipping.

Polaroid 600 Instant Film 1 Pack 10 Photos ended at $31 dollars with $5.00 shipping.

Sealed NIB POLAROID 600 Film (2 PACKS) 80 PHOTOS ended at $297.17 dollars with calculated shipping.

by my math calculated from just these 3 auctions – an average pack of 10 photos now runs about $30 minus shipping.  i thought $10 a pack was ridiculous.   

then i just did a generalized google search for 600 film.  not much better.  the first two links i decided to click on stated they were out of stock or discontinued. this got me back to wondering – now that my polaroid is useless at the moment (unless i pay out the wazzooo for film), what other options are there? 

so i got to looking…..

more nifty camera gadgets

Photojojo is one of my favoritist photo places on the web for creative ideas and photographer knick-knacks. 

last week  i got an email about what cool little gadgets they’ll be adding to their inventory this week… and i must say – there’s a few cool things they’ve added. 

lets start with the usb camera drive (4gb).  for $20 it’s a cool little gadget to own.  i just ordered mine and can’t wait to see it!
